Highland Cottage House Plan

This is one of my favorite house plans.  Every room has a private porch connected to it, which serves to “bring the outdoors in” to each room.  There is much opportunity to appoint the interior with casing (such as the barrel ceilings at each side of the fireplace and the exposed (faux boxed) timber beams in the Living/Kitchen/Dining) which will serve to give this home a good “cottage feel”.   At only 41’-6” wide, this home design allows site room for a drive to access the garage at the rear of the home (where, in my opinion, the garage belongs!).

This home would fit great in a neighborhood because of its large covered front porch which recalls the times when front porches were a place of gathering and waving to neighbors walking by.
